Multi-Skilled Technical assistant (technician)

About Fiberflux

Fiberflux is an innovative scale-up that develops unique installation systems and pipeline components to install fiber optic cables inside (drinking water) pipelines. By using the optical fibers as sensors (Fiber Optic Sensing), various anomalies in and around pipelines can be detected in real time by analyzing acoustic patterns with AI-powered software. This groundbreaking pipeline monitoring solution, DALI Pipeline Monitoring, is being developed and internationally commercialized in collaboration with Fluves, a Ghent-based software engineering company specializing in Fiber Optic Sensing applications.

DALI Pipeline Monitoring aims to become an essential foundational technology for every water utility worldwide by delivering unparalleled, high-quality data to manage their pipeline networks more efficiently and to accurately and rapidly detect leaks and intrusions. In doing so, we contribute to addressing one of the greatest sustainability challenges for water utilities and society at large: reducing water loss due to leaks and making existing water infrastructure more sustainable. Additionally, the new in-pipe fiber optic connections create new opportunities for data communication and the “smartification” of infrastructure.

Fiberflux has a commercial and administrative office in the Wintercircus in Ghent, where it was selected for the Startup Campus. Our technical workshop and logistics activities take place in Puurs-Sint-Amands, within an office and operational infrastructure shared with two other family-related companies.
